What is a giclée?

Giclée printing is a method of reproducing original artwork as fine art prints. This is a technology that has evolved since the late 20th century to use primarily aqueous wide format printers with archival inks and pigments on archival media. This means customers are investing in museum-quality art on papers that are acid-free and intended to last well beyond a lifetime. Under normal conditions, these prints are highly resistant to fading or discoloring. Properly framing them even increases their longevity. Owning a giclée print is the next best thing to an original work of art.

How long does it take to get an order?

Although it is likely to arrive sooner, your print orders must go through production and processing before they can be shipped, so please allow up to 3 weeks for this plus delivery time. The professional printers we work with have been expeditious, however, we have no information or say over their processing times or busy seasons.

Orders of in-stock gallery items are packaged and shipped as promptly as possible. It is not uncommon to receive a same-week delivery. Customers are given the USPS tracking number for the order, if it applies.

How are the packages shipped?

We use USPS shipping and items are safely packaged in flat, rigid mailers, mailing tubes, padded bubble wrap envelopes, or boxes, dependent on the items and sizes. Some artwork orders may go through UPS. Certain items, such as AURAGEMS, include free gift-wrapping, as well.

Do you ship to countries beyond the U.S.?

Yes. We will ship outside the U.S. based on an invoiced order.
Please email the list of items you would like to order with the understanding that is your agreement to pay for the order in full. Include all necessary specifications like quantity and print size. Also include your first and last name AND precise mailing address. Your weight-based shipping total plus a $10 handling fee will be calculated into your order total and you will be emailed an invoice for your purchase, to be promptly shipped upon payment. If you require added insurance or signature service, for example, please request that so it will be calculated into your total. Any customs fees incurred and uninsured packages are the responsibility of the customer. Paypal is used for processing, so orders can only be sent to their service locations.

Does the watermark show up on my print?

No.

Are the prints I order matted and framed?
(Special Orders)

Typically, no. At this time, prints-only are listed. If you require a matted print, submit a request for special order, including a mat color preference (considered, if available). You will be emailed a quote for your request. Shipping will be added to the quote if an exact mailing address is provided. Your special order will be completed via an emailed INVOICE.

Which pieces are ready-to-hang?

Display-ready artwork is indicated in the individual listings and will specify them as such.

Several ready-to-hang pieces, including originals, framed photographs, and framed photo art are available in the Hastings studio gallery. Those in the online shop that have display hardware attached do indicate this. Featured watercolor fine art prints are available as print only or framed and matted. If you have seen a piece in the studio gallery, these are available for sale and local pickup; email to inquire about prices or placing an invoice order.

Is there a color variation between the product photo and the actual item?

Colors shown in the product photos are the best possible representation of the actual items. However, screen and monitor colors are not universal and are not the responsibility of the seller. This goes the same for the lighting of artwork, as where it is displayed may alter its color appearance. If you need an exact color match, then your best option is to make an appointment to view your piece in person at the studio gallery. **Not available for fine art prints and reproductions.
