In the gallery shop at HeatherOelschlager.com, there are a number of art greeting cards that are perfect for holiday greeting cards. All the cards are blank inside for personalizing with your own lovely and festive messages. Write a simple sentiment or include a seasonal poem. Many of the cards are suitable for various seasons, holidays, life events and celebrations.
This selection included here are particularly nice for December holidays and birthdays. You’ll find both 4×6 and 5×7 size options among the cards, in case you have a preference. It should be noted, too, that all the cards include white envelopes (unless otherwise indicated for the flat, non-folded, cards). If you like a particular card shown in this blog, click on the sample image to open the shop listing page in a new window, so you can get all the details.
The Reindeer and Nisse cards can be sent as minimalist options, or they can be colored in by hand. Read a little more about this below.

Make it a Complete Gift
The entire collection of art greeting cards is created with the intention that each card may be framed as a fine art print. That’s why the cards are professionally printed using high quality art papers and inks. Consider adding a picture frame to complete your gift so that your special person can display their art right away.
This particular set of four frames, can be used for matted pictures that are either 4×6 or 5×7, or unmatted 8×10 pictures. That’s really a wonderful perk for anyone who changes their art displays seasonally.

Coloring the Reindeer and Nisse Cards
If you decide to personalize and color (or have your kids color) the Reindeer or Nisse cards before mailing them to friends and family, try these colored pencils for great results. The budget-friendly Set of 50 from FanVean or the Premium Pencil Set of 50 from KALOUR.
For those who do not want to use colored pencils, this set of 60 double-sided markers from Ohuhu is a good choice. (Heather highly recommends them for all of your marker-art projects). The only caution here is that markers are more unpredictable as to whether they’ll result in someone smudging the initial black line art on the cards or not. Certain markers (and certain colorists 😉 ) are more prone to that.
GIFT IDEA: If you’re sending a card in black-and-white, create a special themed gift by combining it with a package of colored pencils and a coloring book from Heather’s Sketchbooks series. It makes a great present of coloring projects and entertainment to last all winter long.
Personalizing Your Card for the Holidays
Are you sending a number of cards? Try these gel ink pens for adding your holiday sentiments and messages to the art cards which are blank inside. Heather has used all these gel pens for various projects (both writing and drawing) and they’re her favorites, but not listed in a particular order.
Pilot G2. This particular set includes black, blue, red, and green.
Sharpie S-Gel: green ink. These pens come in black, blue, purple, red, and green ink. Make sure to read the package label carefully, as the barrel colors vary and do not necessarily match the ink color.
Uniball Signo 207: 8 pack assorted colors; this set includes green, red, black, and blue. For gel ink drawing, be sure to pick up both the Signo 207 (.07mm) and the Signo 207 Micro (.05mm).
For writing only, the PaperMate InkJoy pens that come in sets of up to fourteen colors are fun, too, and have a larger barrel size that’s easy to grip, and the ink colors match the barrel colors. They’re good for doodling, but not as good for precision drawing.
Happy Holidays, Everyone!
